Nice bright light. Simplicity makes it practical and aesthetic.

This is a nice bright energy saving light. It comes with both bulbs which is great. You can use different bulb wattages if you want less light (or more I suppose). The dome/diffuser is plastic, but it looks nice, and no glass to drop or break by accident. I replaced an old rust spotted gold and glass one in my hallway. The new one looks so much nicer and hangs down less of course (3+ inches) which is good for older houses with low ceilings.The instructions are fine, just take out old light, connect all the wires with included wire nuts (I used the old ones as they were bigger). Then you tuck the wires in/under and attach with 2 new screws. A nice feature is the base has some space in the center a little bigger than the wires, so the excess wire can lay on top of the base, you don't have to shove it all up into the ceiling box. Since the wires are long though it took me a little time to tuck them all in so I would not squash them when I tightened it up. The base has those screw holes that look like a key hole, so you can turn the base to take it on or off ceiling without loosening the screws much, which you'd never need to do, but maybe you'd want to dust under it or re-paint ceilings. Overall an easy installation experience if you've done one or two before, and even if not, not that big a deal (turn power off of course!).My one complaint is it's a bit hard to pull the plastic dome off the base, especially to start when it's not attached to the ceiling yet. Maybe get two people to pull each side. It's held by 3 metal spring clips on the inside. The other related issues is getting the dome back on. The clips go fully inside so you have to line it up and push down but it's hard to line exactly and I didn't want to push and bend the clips or worse scratch the dome, so I just pushed on one clip at a time to get it in, with the last one a bit harder. But you'll only do this once or twice then it's done for a while (until you want to clean out the inside of light from dust & bugs someday :-) The edges of the metal clips are sharp too and each one has a little pointy part sticking out on the end. I filed those down.
